How We Share

Humans are social creatures. It means, humans cannot live alone and they also cannot ditch the behaviour of 'helping each other'. In fact, this behaviour is one of the basic things which we often do in our daily activities. It can occur either between individuals, or between groups, or even between countries. Helping each other can also happen in the economic, health, or any other field. Furthermore, when we are talking about this particular behaviour; several things and activities will come across our minds, one of which is social work. Just like 'helping', social work can happen in every field of life. When it comes to the health field, this activity is commonly known as KerSosKes or Health and Social Work.

On Saturday, December 4th, 2021, the Department of Child Health of the University of Udayana participated in social work activities which were held in two places (alternately), which were Sekar Pengharapan Orphanage in Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali - with 26 children - and Widhya Asih Orphanage, Cica - with 45 children.

The activities started at 08.00 am, where the opening was led by Dr. dr. I Gusti Ngurah Made Suwarba, Sp.A (K), followed by the staffs of Child Health and Development Studies along with the residents.

The 'health service' activities were such as health education, free medical check-ups, distribution of medicines, as well as distribution of basic needs. Moreover, in order to build intimacy with the people, the event committee also organized mini games, riddles, prizes, as well as invited them to sing together.

For the some people, small helps could mean the world. We personally hope that social activities like this one can be conducted more often in the future, so that we can help more people.
